Certificate records should identify the operator consistently and list the exact websites using the seal. Updates to company information or domain coverage should be submitted to the IGCA team before a seal is used on a new address.
Record checklist
- Operating company name and company number.
- A unique certificate number.
- Main domain and individually registered alternative domains.
- Issue date, any expiry date and current status.
The public record describes these fields; it is not a substitute for a separate technical assessment or report.
Record quality and consistency
A reliable record begins with consistent operator identification. Company names and reference numbers should be supplied in a form that can be matched across the application, public record and operator communications. Domain information should identify the actual address intended for use, rather than a brand name alone.
Change control
Changes should be communicated with the existing reference, the information to be amended and the reason for the request. The team may seek supporting clarification before modifying a published entry. The remote seal should not be copied to a new domain before that domain is explicitly associated with the record.
