Understanding certificate status

Read active, expired, suspended and revoked records in context.

Archive period: 2026-06 · Informational archive guide. This period is an editorial classification, not its original publication date.

Status is time-sensitive

Always consult the current verification page. A certificate that was active when an image was saved may have changed. Review the issue date and any expiry date alongside the displayed status.

Different conditions

Expired indicates that the recorded validity period has ended. Suspended and revoked are distinct classifications and should not be presented as active. A missing record is not the same as proof that an operator never held a certificate.

Ask for clarification

If the status conflicts with an operator’s statement, retain the exact reference and contact the registry. Do not infer the reason for a status change from the label alone. The public record may not describe the underlying review.
